Edward Boulos, Founder

Edward J. Boulos founded OE&S in 1955. Recognizing the impact that an efficient and inspiring workplace could have on his customer’s success, he worked diligently to make certain they were making an investment and not simply incurring additional expenses. Many of the customer relationships, forged in the early years of OE&S, have continued throughout the company’s history.

E. Zimmermann Boulos, President

Mr. Boulos is owner and President of Office Environments & Services, North Florida’s premier provider of business furniture and adaptable workspaces. The business was founded by his father in 1955, and today has 28 employees and annual revenue of $15 million. Mr. Boulos earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Jacksonville University, where he was captain of the school’s varsity soccer team. He is also a former international soccer referee who officiated games in the preliminary rounds of the 1994 and 1998 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup, and in the preliminary round of the 1996 Olympics. Prior to his retirement he had officiated in more than 100 international matches, including ones involving the USA men’s and women’s national teams. He refereed many Major League Soccer matches, and in 1983, the Men’s College Soccer championship game. Mr. Boulos is very active in the greater Jacksonville community, having served as Chairman of the Jacksonville Economic Development Commission. He also was a board member of the Airport Art Commission, the San Marco Preservation Society, Greenscape (a local tree-planting organization) and Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens. In 2013, he was named to the Board of Directors of the First Atlantic Bank, and he currently serves as a board member of the national non-profit organization, Aging with Dignity, as well as American Forests, the nation’s oldest conservation organization. In 1988, Mr. Boulos founded the popular Flowering Tree Sale for Greenscape, which has since added more than 200,000 trees to the area landscape. His involvement in the San Marco Preservation Society included raising $2 million in public and private funding to help with the historic San Marco Square renovation and placement of seven pieces of public art throughout the San Marco area, where he and his family have resided for decades. Mr. Boulos and his wife Terry have been married for over 30 years and have one daughter, Meredith, who currently is a medical student at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.
